About the Authors

Marc Folan is a composer/lyricist who is currently writing his 6th musical.  One of his current productions, "A Little Princess", is being staged by the NYMT (National Youth Music Theatre) company THIS SUMMER - 2018 - at THE OTHER PALACE, Victoria after it's fruitful workshop last summer.


His new schools musical - A Knight at the Museum - was workshopped in Los Angeles, USA in February 2015 at the ASCAP/Dreamworks Musical Theatre Workshop.  Last year Marc was a finalist in the Styles and Drew Song of the Year competition in London with a song from A Little Princess, written with Carl Miller.


Marc is a Professional Writer member of Mercury Musical Developments (MMD - a London-based collective) and has had several productions of another of his musicals "When It Rains..." staged in the UK (including one in 2018 in the Lake District).

When not immersing himself in musical theatre he composes music for corporate clients who include The Metropolitan Police, BBC Good Food, Haringey Council, Tribal, AQA and Do The Green Thing and he recently scored his first full length feature film "Eden Lodge".  He has also written music for BBC trailers, ITV ads and CH4 documentaries.


Jim Batten is a musician and writer, namely writing comedy for BBC Radio 4's topical news show 'Weekending' and London Weekend Television's comedy sketch shows for Kate Robbins, Gary Wilmot and Hale and Pace...... Then Jim fell in love; and woke up on a beach twelve years later, with a wife, three children and a huge mortgage; and has since been cajoled by Marc Folan to write again.... funny old world....
